The Greatest Story Ever Told About
The Greatest Man That Ever Lived
The Teachings on Marriage

Matthew 5:32  Anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to
become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.

Matthew 19:5  What God has joined together, let man not separate.

Matthew 19:9  Anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another
woman commits adultery.

1 Corinthians  7: 1-3  It is good for a man not to marry. But since there is so much immorality, each
man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.  The husband should fulfill his
marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband.

1 Peter 3:1-4  Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not
believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they
see the purity and reverence of your lives. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment,
such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of
your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s

1 Peter 3:7  Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them
with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing
will hinder your prayers.

Ephesians 5:22-24  Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the
husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church... as the church submits to Christ,
so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.  Ephesians 5:25-28  Husbands, love
your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy...and
blameless.  In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves
his wife loves himself.

Ephesians 5:33  Each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must
respect her husband.

Ephesians 6:1-4  Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and
mother” which is the first commandment with a promise “so that it may go well with you and that
you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them
up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
