The best way to learn what the Bible says about
something
is to trace that topic from Genesis to
Revelation.  Then you will know what The Bible
says about it.  You can read commentaries, ask
your pastor, go to study groups, read books, but
that way, you will get many different opinions.  If
you pray and ask the Holy Spirit to show you
God's truth, he will.  He will teach you the Word

of God.

The worse way to study the Bible is to already
have an opinion and then look for scriptures that
support that opinion.  You don't learn anything
that way, you just look for credibility for what you
already think is right.  You can make the Bible
sound like anything you want it to that way.

For example, Jesus asked us to repent.  If you
look up all the scriptures that have the word
repent or it's derivative, you will know all about
repenting.  And guess what?  It's not from sin,

yet many teach that we need to repent of our
sins.  See my study on Repenting and you will
see what I mean.

All you really need to study the Bible is a
Concordance and a Hebrew and Greek
Dictionary.  Then choose a topic, and look up
every scripture that pretains to that topic.  Look
up the meaning of the words used in the Greek
and Hebrew dictionaries, and ask the Holy Spirit
to teach you.  As long as you go into this with an
open, teachable mind and spirit, you will learn

the truth of God's word.

This is how I like to study the Bible and the Holy
Spirit has taught me everything I know.  I prefer
this because when I stand before God, I will have
in my defence His Word, not someone else's
word or opinion.

I hope you find these studies that I have done
helpful, and I would appreciate hearing from you
if you have any questions or comments.
